  Membership criteria:

   

  • A minimum of 12 months trading

  • 6 references including one from a 'professional' or Local Authority Building Control

  • Local FMB Branch approval

  • Public and employer liability insurance

  • No un-discharged bankruptcies or relevant outstanding County Court Judgments against company or directors

  • VAT registration (where appropriate)

  • Confirmation of business address/details

  • Credit checks, public record and director checks.

• Benefit 2

  The FMB sets standards that builders have an obligation to meet in order to become members, we therefore take any complaint against a member very seriously.

  All complaints are investigated and in the vast majority of cases, they are simply resolved through the intervention of the FMB. However, where that is not possible, the FMB will help with independent dispute resolution.

The FMB is a trade association that promotes professionalism and high quality workmanship among small and medium-sized building firms throughout the UK.
